Home » Make a Donation – Women’s Ordination

Religion changes lives. We change religion.

Jacqueline Straub
“I want to be a priest in the Catholic Church. For this wish I often have to justify myself. Men do not. It is sad that … even in the 21st century women are not equal and are excluded from all ordained ministry.”
Jacqueline Straub, Catholic theologian, journalist and author, holding our brochure.
Jimmy Carter
“The truth is that male religious leaders have had – and still have – an option to interpret holy teachings either to exalt or subjugate women.”
Jimmy Carter, former USA president.

“We had not realised how much we denied ourselves. Now we have the first Anglican women bishops, we are asking ourselves why we were so stupid for so long?”
Archbishop Desmond Tutu

    WHY DONATE

Age-old prejudices about women’s natural inferiority support a pervasive discrimination against women within the Roman Catholic Church. Half of all Catholics globally are left largely voiceless, reminded daily of their position of inferiority by their own religious community.

    OUR WORK

Our interdisciplinary research challenges religious prejudices and highlights those traditional and contemporary insights that have the potential to help the Christian tradition grow towards greater inclusivity, justice and compassion.

Help us educate the next generation and transform the lives of millions of people who struggle with religious beliefs against women’s equality.

    EFFICIENT GIVING

Our tiny staff and numerous volunteers ensure small contributions go a long way. Every donation goes to support our educational work.

Moreover, as a registered charity in the USA, UK and the Netherlands, all donations by taxpayers from any of those countries is tax deductible.

    OUR FINANCIAL TARGET

To continue and consolidate our work we need about $100,000 a year. Put another way: just over 800 supporters pledging $10 a month is all it takes to contribute significantly to reforming Catholicism.

Regular monthly giving helps us to plan ahead, and it cuts our administration costs, meaning that more money can go directly into our research.
